2. What’s The Difference Between Northern Arena and Coast?

Northern Arena and Coast Swim Club are two separate organisations which work together. They are financially independent.

Northern Arena employs our coaches, and our coaches organize and run all our squads, oversee the timetable, pool space, group allocation etc.

Coast Swim Club looks after the administration of competitive swimming including level 3 meets and is run by a volunteer committee.

3. How Much Will It Cost?

Northern Arena invoices our swimmers for their squad training. This is invoiced monthly and deducted by Direct Debit. The fee depends on the group or squad you are in. Please see the Northern Arena website for further details: https://www.northernarena.co.nz/swim-school-payment-info.

Coast Swim Club invoices our swimmers a monthly membership fee. This is invoiced quarterly and deducted by Direct Debit. This fee is the same for all members, $34.50 a month. There is a joining fee of $50 which is waivered for swimmers who have learnt to swim at Northern Arena.

Swimming NZ and Auckland Swimming charge an annual affiliation fee which is payable through Fastlane.

4. What Is The ASA And SNZ Annual Fee?

ASA (Auckland Swimming) and SNZ (Swimming New Zealand) charge a annual affiliation fee. This is payable through Fastlane. The financial swimming year runs from 1st July- 30th June annually.

Swimmers are only eligible to enter meets once this fee has been paid.

5. Who Do I Contact When I Am Sick, Injured, Or Resigning?

If you are sick or injured you should email your lead coach and let them know.

If the injury is long term and will require suspending your membership you should also let the club administrator know by emailing entries@coastswimclub.org.nz. The club allows a three-month suspension of membership with no rejoining fee.

If you want to resign you should let your lead coach know, email entries@coastswimclub.org.nz and also let the reception at Northern Arena know. One month noticed is required to resign from both Coast Swim and Northern Arena

6. When Should I Join The Club?

Swimmers can join the club at any time but should be capable of swimming 25m confidently. If you are unsure, please ask at reception for a coach who can help you out or email entries@coastswimclub.org.nz for further details.

7. What Swim Meets Should I Enter?

Our administrator sends out regular emails with information on the meets which the club will be attending. Ideally swimmers would only enter meets as directed by their lead coach, to ensure that the meets align with the seasonal planning each year and give each swimmer the best opportunity to succeed.

Meets being attended by the club are also listed on the club website under Member Info, at the bottom of the page.

8. What Events Should I Enter?

Please talk to your lead coach as to what to enter for each meet.

9. Does Coast Swim On Public Holidays?

Coast Swim Club generally does not swim on public holidays, but the coaches will notify swimmers on their closed FB group if training will be on.

10. Am I Charged During Squad Season Breaks?

The monthly fee charged by Northern Arena and Coast Swim Club are still charged during squad season breaks. There are times in the year when some swimmers are given a break, (depending on your squad) all fees are still payable as this is considered when setting the fees for the year.

11.  How Do I Order Caps And Uniforms.

Caps can be purchased from the Team Manager at all meets. We have regular caps for $20 and Dome Caps $35. If you would like to purchase a cap between meets, please email the club administrator. 12.  I Don’t want to compete, What Other Options Do I Have?

Swim Fit is available (13 years and over) for those who want to join the facility and be a member (includes gym), Surf Fit (13 years and over) is an option for those who just want to focus on swimming for other water related activities, or Senior Talent for anyone who wishes to have structured but casual lessons.
